We are looking forward to welcoming you at the start of your canal vacation. Below are some notes about what to expect and how to get here. To contact the telephone numbers from outside Britain you should ignore the first 0 and dial +44, then the rest of the number.
Overseas visitors make up about one third of all our holiday boat hire customers and quite a few of them return year after year. You can be assured of a warm welcome when you arrive. We are well located in a very attractive part of England with excellent transport connections to and from the major airports (London Heathrow, Birmingham International and Manchester). We have some general advice here but if you need any further advice on how to get to us please do not hesitate to contact us.
We have an excellent choice of routes, most of which offer “a little bit of everything” making us the ideal starting point for one of the best ways to see England – by boat. If you have particular places you would like to see or events you would like to experience, please email us – we’ll be happy to help with detailed planning for your trip.
If you have never been on a narrowboat before, don’t worry – many of our new customers haven’t – and our expert instructors will provide detailed and clear tuition on all aspects of your boating holiday, including practical experience, so that you will feel confident and prepared before you set off. Canal and River Trust have produced an excellent instructional film which you can watch here before you arrive as an overview.
We provide complimentary towels for overseas visitors as well as safe storage for your suitcases if required. There is a full back up service, including out of hours, should you require any assistance whilst you are on the boat.
